How to Claim Land
How to claim land on LoungeSMP: run /kit claim, hold the golden shovel, pick two opposite corners around the area you want protected, then right-click each corner with the shovel.

Get the claim kitRun /kit claim to get the tools used for claiming.

Mark the first cornerHold the golden shovel and right-click one corner of the area you want to protect.

Mark the opposite cornerRight-click the opposite corner. The area between those corners becomes your claim.

Check nearby claimsRight-click with a stick to see whether the land you are standing near is claimed.
Claim enough room for your builds, farms, pets, and storage. If something matters to you, keep it inside your claim.

Quick answer
Find a Lost Claim
If you cannot remember where a claim is, run /claim list to view your claims and their coordinates.
/claimlist is an alias for /claim list. Write down important base coordinates somewhere safe so you can tell which claim is which.
Permissions
Trust Friends Safely
Trust levels are different. Use the smallest permission that gives the player what they actually need.
Common trust commands

Be careful with /PermissionTrust. It lets someone pass permissions to others.

Use the Claim Menu
The /claim menu gives you a visual way to manage the claim you are standing in.

Stand inside the claimThe menu controls the claim you are currently standing in.

Run /claimThis opens the claim menu.

Open This ClaimLeft-click This Claim to view and manage it, or right-click it only if you intend to delete it.

Open SettingsClick the beacon-style Settings item to view claim flags and claim options.

Claim Settings
Settings control specific behavior inside a claim. Ranking up from Citizen to Elite to Supreme can unlock more claim settings.
If a setting seems risky, leave it off until you understand what it changes.
Commands
/claim -> This Claim -> SettingsOpens the claim settings menu for the claim you are standing in./ClaimExplosionsToggles whether explosions are allowed in the claim.
Advanced claims
Subdivisions
Subdivisions are smaller protected areas inside a main claim. They are useful when you want different permissions in different parts of the same claim.

Open the subdivision menuUse /claim, then open This Claim, then Subdivisions to view subdivisions in the current claim.

Switch shovel modeRun /SubdivideClaims while using a golden shovel to create a subclaim inside your main claim.

Set trust per areaInside a subdivision, you can edit permissions and settings separately from the main claim.

Use it for shops or shared areasFor example, you can let someone build only in their stand while keeping the rest of the claim protected.
Avoid problems
Common Claim Mistakes
Most claim problems come from trusting too much, claiming too little, or forgetting which shovel mode you are in.

Do not trust players just because they askUse the smallest trust level that fits what they need. ContainerTrust and PermissionTrust can cause real problems if given too casually.

Claim the full buildMake sure storage, farms, pets, villagers, doors, and decorations are inside the claim, not just the walls of the house.

Use subdivisions for shop stallsIf you run a town or market, subdivisions let players use only their stall or area without giving access to the whole claim.

Fix shovel mode quicklyIf your shovel is stuck in subdivision mode, run /BasicClaims before trying to make or resize a normal claim.

Before deleting a claim, move anything valuable or confirm the build is no longer needed.

If a command does not work, check whether you are standing in the correct claim and whether you have permission to manage it.
